Protect me, O God, from evildoers and violence.
Help me live among the selfish and greedy
without buying in.
Keep me strong in the face of those
who would undermine me.
And keep me honest in the face of
all that is in me.
Help me to purify my heart and weed out
all that distracts and derails me.
Help me to maintain the cause
of the poor and the oppressed.
Bring justice and good sense to my city.
I would be one of the righteous
who do your work
and calls on your name.
