Psalm 5 Do you hear my prayers?
Do you hear my prayers, O God?
I seem to have them—cries for help, hopes to voice, and
the little flame of my love to share.
Do you hear me in the morning when I sit
and quiet myself, and listen?
When I quell the braggart in my heart, notice my anger,
my deficiencies of integrity,
and all the ways I partake of injustice and privilege?
(if you were not here, if you did not touch me with your mercy,
I would never be able to do that…)
I take refuge in you.
Your love gives me joy.
Your shelter gives me strength
Thank you!
