Psalm 143-Thirst
God, hear my prayer—
touch my heart in answer.
For I am burdened by my faults and failings—
and a busy, noisy world.
My inner life is a mess.
My spirit faints within me,
My heart is desolate
as parched as the dry land.
My soul thirsts for You.
I spread out my hands,
I try to remember.
You seem absent.
I sigh, and pick up, and go on.
The thirst I feel is all I have of You right now.
I ask your help in whatever small ways you have,
for I live to be your servant.
Help me to keep an open heart.
touch my heart in answer.
