Psalm 144-Who are we?
O God, I am glad of Your spark in me,
which has urged me to grow.
I am glad of Your spark in the cosmos
which has brought forth light and life.
And we humans, we mere mortals,
living on a tiny speck of a planet,
Who are we that you should care about us?
How is it that you attend to us?
We are insignificant in Your immensity and grandeur
Still, we are of You, and You help us and protect us.
O God, I will sing you a new song!
I will thank you for all you have done for me.
For my life in a strong nation---help us be wise in our strength—
For the children—help them thrive—
For a life of blessings, love and good fortune
—may I be of service.
And may I be happy, O God, content with my life and with you.
which has urged me to grow.
